Care, Peterbald's feeding, that is showing a cat that you really love it...

Peterbald's eyes

Peterbalds haven't got eyelashes, that's why it may happen, that their eyes run due to dust or particulates, which gets into the eye. Hairless cat's eyes run much more than normal cat's eyes – it happens, because the lack of eyelashes must be replaced. It is essential not to treat healthy running eyes. We recognize morbid condition seeing bleary, swollen conjunctives and tears are very dense and turbid.

When we see an excess of eye excretion in eye corner, we should remove it using damp swab. Let us remember that healthy cat cares about its eyes hygiene itself.

What is curious, kittens open their eyes very quickly. Sometime they are born with already open eyes.

Peterbald's ears

Auditory canal as well as auricle is coated with brown, little sticky protective excretory, that protect naked ears from soiling. It is a natural barrier and it mustn't be removed, because in this case we expose Peterbald's ears to bacteria and viruses. The unpleasant smell of too dense excretory and a leak out of a ear is a symptom of morbid condition.

Peterbald's body

Pterbald's skin is hairless – velvety in touch, very warm (due to a high body temperature). Sebaceous glands excrete special protective fat (called sebum), which excess has to be removed every few days – using advisable tissue for infants humidified with olive or bathing the Peterbald (depending on its need 2-4 times a month), using a shampoo for children or a shampoo for delicate and sensitive skin. The best is make your Peterbald get use to regular baths since the young age – then they will come to like the water and will avoid further problems with keeping hygiene of our sphynx.

Peterbald's claws

Peterbald's claws need to be cut off every 2-3 weeks, using specially adjusted tool. These cats are unusually calm and the watch with interest what we're trying to do with their paws. It's good to provide Peterbald a special bolt or allowed area where it could sharp its claws.

Peterbald's skins

Willing to go out with your Peterbald outside, you have to remember that its delicate skin needs to be protected with sunblock cream with UV filter, to avoid burns. The best care provide cosmetics for children with 30-50 UV filter.

When keeping in cool place or before going out on a freezing day, be sure to protect your Peterbald from cold by putting on it some clothes. It might be specially custom made for example polar clothing – available in some of pets shops or manufactured by ourselves. It's important to be sure that cloth the cat wears isn't heating its soft skin.

Peterbald's hygiene

Peterbalds care off hygiene and paws toilet, including pad from below cats paws, individually and with extraordinary devotion.

Peterbald's feeding

There are as many theories related to feeding hairless cats as breeders. Some of them regard varied nutrition, consisting of dry and fesh fodder as well as specially prepared meat, vegetables and quail eggs (fresh ones!). Other theory says that already prepared fodder is just enough for Peterbald – fresh and dry forage provided from firms especially taking up with selling fodder for hairless cats. It's important not to feed your cat with fodder for normally hairy cats, because they contain ingredients that help cat to purify its intestines from hair it might swallow during cleaning itself. Those may lead to a serious morbid condidtion.
