About breed, that is Peterbald don't come from the universe...
Peterbald is a lively, cheerful, nosy and intelligent cat. It gets very devoted to its family and seeks contact with it at all times. It has a very peaceful attitude to the world and lives in harmony with other home pets. It likes children, accepts stroking, scratching and other necking, even those less delicate. It is extremely active, cheerful, can spend hours playing with a ball or other toy. It requires a lot of attention from its carer.
Breed named Peterbald (PEB) was brought to life in Russia, St. Petersburg, at the oriental cat breeding in 1994. Despite very significant similarity to sphynx, Peterbald breed is completely different. This fact was a subject of genetic researches which confirmed that gens responsible for bald skin of both breeds are totally different. Peterbald's lack of hair is caused by the same gen which appears by Don-Sphynks but those cats clearly vary when it goes about body shape.
Other sources say that Peterbald is a cross of Don-Sphynks and Sphynks (Canadian).
Peterbald is a cat that has an oriental body type, it has very rare, thin and almost invisible hair or it is completely hairless. It can be mistaken with the Sphynx cat, that is why it is also called Petersburg Sphynx.
Peterbald has delicate, tiny skeleton and elongated silhouette with strong muscles, covered with soft stretchy skin. Thin paws ended with long digits and long slim tale are typical for this breed. These features differ Peterbald from Don-Sphynx, other hairless breed that come from Russia.
The head is prolonged with sharp profile. The forehead should be lightly flatten and the snout strong. Big ears are set high on the head. Eyes aren't so big but their oval is explicit. Acceptable eyes colours are golden yellow or blue for marked cats.
Sometimes almost invisible Peterbald's fur may be twisted and resemble Rex's fur, but it happens only on the head, neck and upper part of the trunk. The feature appears only by adult cats, after finishing up to one and a half or two years.
Tomcats are clearly bigger than catkins.
Petebald is a unique breed and regarded by TICA, WCF and since 2007 FIFe.
